Mentorship

Twelve weeks, on one thing you are actually building.

This is not a course and it is not office hours. You bring one thing you are building — a company, a product, a piece of writing, a portfolio — and for twelve weeks it gets my attention on a schedule. Two calls a month, forty-five minutes each, plus a channel where I answer within a day on weekdays.

It works best when the thing already exists in some form. I am far more useful editing a live business than validating an idea, because the questions get concrete: this pricing page, this cold email, this hiring decision, this investor conversation. People arriving with nothing but ambition tend to leave with a nicer version of the ambition.

Six people at a time, because the seventh is the one who gets a reply two days late.

Apply

What you get

  • Two 45-minute calls a month, on video, recorded and sent to you.
  • Async access on weekdays with a same-day reply — a real channel, not a support form.
  • One written teardown of whatever the central artefact is: the site, the deck, the funnel, the manuscript.
  • Warm introductions where I actually know the person, and a plain no where I don't.
  • A written scope in week one — three outcomes for the twelve weeks — and a written honest review of it in week twelve.

What this isn’t

  • Not investment, and not a route to it. I do not take equity in exchange for mentorship, and applying is not pitching.
  • Not a guarantee of any outcome, financial or otherwise. Nobody's results are published here because the sample is too small for an average to mean anything, and small-sample averages presented as evidence are the oldest trick in this industry.
  • Not accounting, legal, tax, or regulated financial advice — for any of those you need a professional with a licence and insurance, and I have neither.
  • Not a substitute for someone who has done it ten times. I am seventeen, I have built and sold one company, and I run a small group of businesses. That is a real amount of experience and it is also a specific, limited amount. If you need a operator who has scaled past a hundred people, hire one — I will tell you that on the call rather than take your money.
  • Not therapy, and not a substitute for it.

What it costs

$400 a month, three months, paid monthly

  • $1,200 in total across the twelve weeks. Billed monthly, not upfront — a programme that takes all the money on day one has no reason to still be good in week nine.
  • Cancel after any month and the next one does not bill. No notice period, no minimum after month one, no fee for leaving.
  • If you get to the end of month one and it has not been worth it, tell me and I refund that month. Once.
  • Two of the six places each cohort are free, for people who could not otherwise pay. Say so in the application — it is a checkbox, not an essay, and it is not scored against you.

This is for you if

  • You are building something now, and it exists enough to be criticised.
  • You want the version of the feedback that is specific and occasionally unwelcome.
  • You will do the work between calls. The calls are the smallest part of this.

It isn’t, if

  • You want someone to validate a plan rather than pressure-test it.
  • You are looking for investment, introductions to investors, or a co-founder.
  • You need a weekly accountability check-in — that is a different service and I am bad at it.

The form

Long on purpose — the answers are the screen, and a form that takes two minutes gets answered by people who have thought about it for two minutes. It saves as you type on this device, so you can leave and come back.
